Hi and welcome,
My name is Jan and my daughter is Jo.
After a nasty accident when I could hardly walk, I needed something I could do whilst sitting down. I began by repairing my own jewellery, then remodelling my own pieces. Soon I began repairing and remodelling pieces for my friends and family.
Having tried and enjoyed the many jewellery making techniques, I found bead-weaving offered me the greatest challenge. I loved the variety of stitches, the versatility of patterns, the selection and sizes of beads. Yes, I was hooked.
I now design and sell my own designs, as well as use designs of other very
talented people. Bespoke work is always very satisfying, and will always be unique to that person. Repairs and alterations gives the client a great deal of joy and relief that a much treasured or sentimental piece can again be worn.
(this is always subject to the suitability of the item)
I have also made a variety of brooches , where £1 from each sale goes to charity. Bead weaving gives the brooch a special look and becomes an item that can be used for many years.
I currently exhibit and sell my work through Craft Fairs and other events.
The latest event was the Welsh Game Fair held for the first time in Pembrey Country Park, near Llanelli. This event attracted 150,000 visitors over the two days, it was helped by the very good weather.
I do hope you enjoy wearing my work and that each piece becomes a personal favourite.
Jan
